Palmgreen Primary School is a Self-governing School focusing on the delivery of high quality education programs that provide students with opportunities to optimize their academic, social, emotional, creative and physical skills. The school is situated on the corner of Tabwa and Isanya Road and caters for approximately 100 Learners from Kindergarten to grade 7. Learners are drawn from the area of Mbala Town, St Mary’s Teachers Collage, Maround, ZAF, and Lunzuwa. Palmgreen Primary School first opened its doors on 20 January 2000 as Tesesse School. The school boasts a proud history of achievement over the past years with various prominent Mbala learners beginning their schooling at Palmgreen. Today the school provides outstanding facilities that include a mixture of heritage listed and new buildings. This includes four purpose-built early childhood classrooms, eight general purpose classrooms, which are specialist music, art/science, and computer rooms, an undercover area and a chicken. Palmgreen is a culturally and linguistically diverse school. Twenty per cent of our school population come from within Mbala background other than those that come on transfers, representing more than 50 per cent. The school focuses on providing an engaging and inclusive learning program that promotes success for all students. High quality teaching, effective leadership and positive partnerships are priorities at Palmgreen Primary School.
Palmgreen School is a private school that is located in a well – populated residential area in Mbala – Northern Province. We are a standard private school that is composed of primary (kindergarten through grade 7) educational institution that is predominantly funded through tuition fees and levies from learners and of course from other private sources. Such as fish farming and growing of onions.

We offer standard and professional teaching services in a not highly secured and conducive learning environment to all our students that is primary (kindergarten through grade 7).

We have plans to offer learning platforms to people with both learning disability and physical disability (especially the blind, the dumb and the deaf). Our overall business goal is to position our private school to become the leading tutorial brand in the educational industry in the whole of Mbala – Northern Province, and also to be amongst the top 10 private schools in Zambia within the first 15 years of operations.
This might look too tall a dream but we are optimistic that this will surely come to pass because we have done our research and feasibility studies and we are enthusiastic and confident that Mbala is the right place to launch our private school in a new face.
Palmgreen Private School was founded by Mr. Elisha Alex Zulu an artist and a former National Museums Board, Moto Moto Museum employee and he is being assisted by his wife Mrs. Pamela Mukupa Zulu. (Mrs.) a social worker and Council Secretary. Mr. Zulu and Mrs. Zulu have both the academic qualifications and experience to run a private school that can favorably compete with other leading private schools not only in Mbala – Northern Province, but also throughout Zambia.
